When do I find out if I was chosen for a campaign?

It depends! The easiest way to tell is taking a peek at the 'Show Interest Date' or 'Express Interest By' date in the campaign information.

Typically a day or two after that date passes is when we start selecting birds.

To learn the status of campaigns you've expressed interest in, you should check the platform around this time. A handful of brands select birds earlier, but going by the 'Show Interest Date' is typically best.

Your best bet for knowing is if the campaign is still visible for you under "Express Interest", there's still a possibility of being selected. If not, the campaign is closed and birds have been selected for that one.

How does the typical selection process work for a campaign?

  • One-week window: Most campaigns accept interest and complete selections over roughly one week. That said, we may try to get further ahead of an event-based campaign to give you more than enough time to get it on your schedule, but also pick people up to the last couple of days who might be last-minute decision makers.

  • Campaign goes live: Usually on a Tuesday (when most new campaigns appear). Birds express interest immediately. That said, campaigns do go live occasionally through the week!

  • Rolling selection: HBHQ often selects in batches (e.g., Wednesdays, Thursdays, Mondays). Brands may increase the number of Birds if interest in a given is high and they have budget, so this can sometimes mean we select more birds after that first week period if they brand decides they'd like to make room for more people to participate.

  • Early interest helps: Express interest as soon as possible—if enough qualified people opt in early, the campaign may close before you see it.

It's important to note that you will only be notified if you are selected for a campaign. If you haven't received a response by the 'Express Interest By' date, it likely means you weren't chosen for that particular campaign. Don't be discouraged though, as new campaigns are added weekly, giving you multiple opportunities to participate.

Remember to regularly check the platform and your notifications around the specified dates for each campaign you've expressed interest in. While waiting for responses, you can continue to opt in to other campaigns that align with your profile.

What if I want to remove my interest from a campaign?

If you realized you can no longer participate in a campaign that you've expressed interest in (but have NOT yet been selected for), you are able to remove your interest, essentially removing yourself from being considered. To do this:

  1. Go to "Campaigns" on your dashboard.

  2. Click on the "Expressed Interest" section.

  3. Click on the campaign you'd like to remove your interest from. Hit the “remove interest” button for this campaign.

  4. It’ll pop back into your list of available campaigns if it's still open or be removed if interest has closed.
