About Campaign Content: Grid Posts, Reels, and Stories

Edited

When you participate in Hummingbird campaigns, you will be required to create and post an Instagram Post (either a Reel or Grid Post) and Instagram Stories.

Types of Content

Carousels

Instagram carousels are posts containing photos or videos that users can view by swiping left. They are highly interactive, ideal for storytelling, tutorials, or showcasing collections. Carousels are effective for increasing engagement and reach by encouraging users to spend more time on a single post. When creating carousels, ensure you showcase the product or experience effectively while maintaining authenticity in your content.

Reels

Reels are short, entertaining videos that can be up to 90 seconds long and can include audio, effects, and other creative elements. Successful Reels often include engaging elements like product demonstrations, versatility showcases, and personal reviews with on-camera moments that highlight your genuine experience. Some campaigns may specifically require Reels as the content format.

Stories

Instagram Stories are temporary posts that disappear after 24 hours. They can include photos, videos, text, and other creative elements. Stories must feature unique content different from your grid posts or carousels to maintain fresh and engaging content for your audience. Note that your story and reel for a campaign do not have to be uploaded on the same day, but ensure you properly connect your story to the platform when posting.

Cross-Platform Posting (TikTok, Facebook, etc.)

While Instagram is the primary platform for campaign requirements, you’re welcome to also share content on other platforms like TikTok. If you do, please email the link to that content to help@hummingbirds.com when submitting your campaign materials. This allows the brand to review and potentially share your cross-platform content. If you already know you plan to do this, feel free to mention cross-posting in your pitch for the campaign!

Scheduling Content

You can adjust the timing of your content posts to optimize visibility and engagement. Most platforms allow you to schedule posts in advance or modify the posting time. When preparing your content, look for scheduling options that let you select the exact date and time you want your post to go live.
