Guide to Completing Your Profile
Want help to fill out your profile or write your bio? Here's everything you'll need!
Step by step
First & Last Name: Here, write your full name as you wish it to appear on our platform.
Birthday: In the 'Birthday' section, select the date of your birth from the dropdown calendar.
Note: Your birthdate itself will not be visible to brands or other hummingbirds, it's simply used to gauge your current age.
Gender: Choose your gender from the options provided in the 'Gender' section.
Phone: Insert your cell-phone number. This will be used to send reminders for campaigns but will NOT be visible to other hummingbirds or brands.
Location: This is the community of hummingbirds you belong to and should already be set from when you created your profile. If you've moved, you can update this to view active campaigns in your new area. Please note that our platform currently supports only one primary location. If you participate in campaigns across multiple cities, select the location where you'll be most active and maintain it consistently to avoid confusion and technical issues.
Do you have kids?: Because some brands have campaigns directly related to parents, this information helps to determine whether you could be a good fit.
Bio: The 'Bio' section is where you can share a bit about yourself. Feel free to write about your interests, hobbies, or any fun facts you'd like to share. See below for more examples. Make sure it's under the 250 character count limit! This limit is strictly enforced, and exceeding it may prevent you from saving your profile or creating an account.
Photo: This image must be less than 5MB and in the jpeg, jpg, or png format. If you're having trouble uploading, try using a desktop computer or reducing the file size of your image.
Address: Provide your current living address. This information is not visible to brands or other hummingbirds. It is only used if you are selected & confirmed for a campaign where shipping a physical product or gift card is necessary. You can update this information anytime through your account settings or by editing your profile.
Campaign Emails: This box is automatically checked unless you change it. However, we recommend staying on these emails so you can get an update on Tuesday with the new campaigns available in your community!
Social Media: Here you'll insert your current Instagram follower count.
Hit "Update Profile" and you've got a completed profile ready to go!
Writing your Bio
Filling out your bio on our platform is a great step towards connecting with brands that align with your interests and values! Your bio allows brands to understand who you are and what your interests are. By filling out your bio, you increase your chances of being selected for campaigns that match your profile and preferences. Remember, there's a strict 250 character limit for bios. If you're having trouble saving your profile or signing up, make sure your bio doesn't exceed this limit.

You can get as creative as you'd like but there's currently a 250 character limit! If you're wondering if your bio is over the character count, use this tool to check. If you're having trouble saving your bio, make sure it doesn't exceed this limit, as it's a common cause of errors.
If you're having trouble uploading your profile picture, try these tips:
Use a desktop computer instead of a mobile device
Reduce the file size of your image (it must be less than 5MB)
Ensure your image is in jpeg, jpg, or png format
Try using an image compression tool if needed
Clear your browser cache or try a different web browser
If you need to update your account address, you can do so through your profile settings. This allows you to maintain your existing profile while ensuring your location information is current. Your full address will only be shared with the Hummingbirds team and brands you're selected for, not publicly visible.
To update your address:
Log in to your Hummingbirds account
Navigate to the 'My Profile' section
Click the 'Edit' button
Update your mailing address in the same section
Save your profile
If you're experiencing issues creating or saving your profile, try these additional steps:
Clear your browser cache and cookies
Try accessing the platform using a different web browser
Ensure you have a stable internet connection
Fill out all required fields
If buttons are unresponsive, refresh the page and re-enter your information
Try logging out completely, then log back in and attempt to edit your profile
Double-check that your bio doesn't exceed the 250 character limit
If problems persist, there may be a technical issue with the platform that requires attention from the development team.
Important: If you're having trouble submitting content to your profile, please check your email (including spam folder) for detailed instructions we've sent on how to properly upload and submit content.
